Ah .. stena do €143 one way incl tunnel. €25 extra per person and €25 for the fast ferry that's what I thought you were looking at.

but €110 each way for the ferry included I see with Sea France! That's a good saving.

Are you still thinking about Monday to cross the channel?

Why, do you think the ferry would be busy?

I would think that it would be ok to travel across on the Sunday from Ireland and head straight to the channel .. cross that evening and stay overnight in Calais or close there abouts

that way you miss the day trippers and travel on the ferrry half way through the holiday weekend.

Thinking about it again
I think you are right.
Is it a bank holiday in the uk?

Not sure it's possible to do the 2 ferries in the day.

just be aware that not all the guys/girls are phobic about the sea and would love the thrill of being underground (me included). The relevent site for those wanting to look see ..

Is your planner going to be able to get discounts like Ollies?

Ferries aren't much better. I have hated them ever since Zeebrugge showed how great they are. Roll on, roll off, roll over. Don't forget to shut the doors. I think it was the old queen Larry Grayson that said it. Anyway, the 12-hour ferry ride from Newcast to Sweden a few years ago had me freaked out.

When you get on board, just park yourself in a seat near the exit for the lifeboats, and since women and children get preference, have a blond wig and lipstick on standby

ermmm....

How can we decide on dates then and start to get an itinerary finalised and cost ferries etc. for specific times / dates?

I know early May does not suit everyone but it seems to be the time we are talking about?

Mon 2nd May is a bank holiday in Irl and UK so for days off work, this would be a good week? How about we decide the trip for between Sat 1st and Sat 8th. Then see about Ring days and times. Then build a travel schedule around that and see where we end up?

I'm kinda flexible on dates but would need to tie them down soon. Also, budget might be different depending on travel days etc.

Also came across this place nearby that offers driving technique training.
http://www.fsznuerburgring.com/trainings.html
Anybody else be interested in this? Sounds like it might be a good idea in prep for some laps? I did similar advanced training in my motorbike days and found it great.

Anyway.... back to deciding dates, travel bookings etc.

My suggestion is that everyone who is up for early May decides that the "window" is 1st to 8th and that some kind soul will work out a schedule and cost travel etc. within that week.

Could that be a plan?
