European road trip 2012, possibly!

Postby mx5ideways » Sat, 12 Nov 2011 12:06 +0000

I don't know if many of ye are interested in the soccer but it might be a nice idea to do a road trip next year when the European Championships in Poland and Ukraine are on and we could get a few games in, could easily get to see a few nice countrys plus get a few games in and support the irish team at the same time, would anyone have any interest in doing this?

Would love to do any kind of road trip, but alas finances are gonna be seriously under pressure for some time as I've nearly spent every penny on bricks and mortar...and still I'm not nearly finished the renovation...maybe I'll win the lotto???

I will be there. Unfortunately not in the 5 as it's now for sale with my pending emigration.

However, I will be driving my '87 Merc Estate from Switzerland to Poznan - I lived there for a year so really looking forward to returning.

hello, I've read the post and cause I'm from Poland myself I have to warn You that apart from some brand new motorways and major roads most of the roads in my beloved homecountry is in, lets be honest bits.so If You will go there try to avoid minor routes and watch out for the Police traffic corps, they are seriously strict about speed limits and drivers that dont use dipped headlights during the day(it is mandatory in Poland)also You have to be careful because local athorities like to put speed cameras in the thrash bins or post boxes or bushes (cant see them) and there are no signs warning You about that fact(of course not everywhere).
If You will have any other qestiones just ask. be happy to help ya
cheers

And for the championship there is already fairly booked out accommodation. Their prices are starting to go into and beyond high priced Dublin hotels by now.. Just my two cents.
