8th August evening run for our Spanish friends

Postby leamyj » Sun, 10 Jun 2012 1:49 +0000

As the name suggests, I am proposing a get together and run on the evening of August 8th to show our visiting friends from mx5Spain some of the delights of the Dublin/Wicklow mountains. Start time is probably the awkward part of this run ..so please make it known the earliest time that you can join us. The car park at the Browns Barn complex on the Naas road ( City West) will be our meeting point..unless someone can propose a better alternative. From there we can skip across towards Blessington, down towards Hollywood, head across the Wicklow Gap ( the sun will be behind us at that time of the evening) into Laragh and across the military road via Sallygap, back across towards Johnny Fox's for refreshment then back down into the city to return our guests to their hotel.
The route shall be refined, no doubt, as we get closer to the run itself. Let it be known too if you'd prefer to meet up with us en route.
John.

And so, the list commences....

Sounds like a great route. I might be up for it. Whether I join you depends in part on your start time, but on't choose a later time for me.

Simon
No more Mk1, now driving an '08 Mk3. Still fun!

7. Ben (Ozi) - if I have wheels (or can arrange something!)

Frank do you mean RX8 or a MX5 V8? Or a RX8 rotary-powered MX5?

@Ozi - the MX8 - it's like the big brother to the Mk2 - on the left here:

OK lads and lassies, this run is just a month away now..make sure it's in your diary ( or smart phone/whatever). Any more takers?? We'd love some of the new members to try and make it, it's gonna be a simple straight forward drive in the Wicklow/Dublin mountains on a beautiful sunny summer's evening...believe me..I have my Child of Prague on standby!!!
