Possible Kildare/Wicklow run later in year?

Postby leamyj » Sun, 04 May 2008 7:09 +0000

Lads and Lassies,
Having enjoyed the last two Galway runs, (thanks again Steve), I am toying with the Idea of organising one in and around Kildare/Wicklow and environs.
I am provisionally looking at September or thereabouts, if it's not clashing with any other event.
As well as the usual type run I hope to get permission from a guy with land to have a "low-traction" session in one of his fields , I.E drifting and sliding without the wear and tear on tyres.
It will probably be on a field of corn stubble with ruts etc, rolled out beforehand.
Weather will be a determining factor if this is to go ahead.
Please feel free to register your interest or comments.

John

Hey J!

With me residing in Laois, count me in. Is there any chance it could be done in Early Aug? Just a thought as Sept could be tricky for me - but if it fits for me - I'll defo be there.

Rgds,

Ollie.

Lads / Lassies , went for a run today and I thought to myself " Why wait until September to do a Kildare /Wicklow run?"
Can I alter the previous suggestion and remove the possibility of a grass drift session and suggest a one-day get together sooner rather than later.
I have a wonderful route planned and we should be able to cover it in the space of 4 hours, giving everyone plenty of time to get home for dinner!!
(Unless of course any of you decide to eat out that day)
I think a Sunday would be the best option, but would be happy to do a Saturday if numbers dictate so.
If we arrange to meet in , say, the car park of the hotel at the rear of the Curragh Racecourse for eleven o'clock on the day in question, Everyone should be homeward bound by 5 at the latest.
That start time is not set in stone and can be earlier if needed.
If any members want to come to Newbridge on the night prior to the run, I will be more than happy to arrange a good night out :D
Thoughts and opinions please.

So come on Guys, don't let the Summer pass you by :!: :!:

Don't really want to wait until Sept.
I'm up for a June meeting. 1 or 2 days is fine. Count me in.
