Hi Guys,
Have to set it straight. Shane will be coming along to the Waterford run only. He posted his notice by accident on the Kildare/Wicklow run.

RIGHT LADS, HERE IS THE PRELIMINARY ITINERARY FOR THE KILDARE/WICKLOW RUN

Most people when passing through Kildare only get to see the motorway. The first part of todays run will bring you behind the scenes , as it were.
The second part brings us along the beautiful Wicklow mountains.. something that we in Kildare tend to take for granted.
We shall be stopping in Glenmalure for lunch, time as yet unknown.

The rules are simple..Make sure you can see the car in front and the car behind. After passing through Towns or major junctions we will re-group.
Speed limits will be observed, although some parts have to be driven that little bit beyond what's allowed...Zoom Zoom

Brief outline and info of route;

Assemble at B&Q , Newhall.. Lidl store nearby for goodies
Leinster aquaduct (via Sallins)
Mondello Park International Motor Racing circuit.. Walkabout
Robertstown.. Grand Canal.. very picturesque
Kilmeague
Hill of Allen.. nice if you get a clear run up and down the other side
Milltown (Once had a lap dancing club, but closed after several months due to local outcry and lack of business)
Fr. Moores well.. Holy Water anyone?
Pollardstown Fen (Source of water for the grand canal, a nature reserve)
Curragh Racecourse.. Home of the Irish Derby
Kildare Town... Heritage town
Village ..retail outlet centre..(only passing.. too many clothes shops)
National Stud (no..not meself) and Japanese Gardens
Curragh Plains.. Watch out for the sheep
Donnelys Hollow.. drive through golf course(not literally)
Braveheart Battle scene..Photo opportunity
Calverstown
Narraghmore
Crookstown(petrol opportunity , toilets, shop etc.,)
Grangecon
Dunlavin
Donard
Knockanarrigan/ Glen of Imaal.. military ranges
Aghavannagh(note all the warning signs about entering the range area)
Glenmalure (Lunch stop)
Laragh
Glendalough..famous beauty spot, full of day trippers though..won't stop here
Wicklow gap (serious scenery) Photo opportunity
Valleymount
Ballyknockan
Lacken ..short stop, photo opportunity
Sallygap...optional extra route , if time allows
Oldcourt
Manor Kilbride
Cross Chapel(Dublin participants may wish to part company here as we are on the outskirts of Tallaght by now)
Rathmore
Punchestown... home of Oxegen festival
Two-Mile House
Athgarvan
Newbridge
I hope everyone has a good time, and any questions about where we are during the trip..If I don't know the answer, I'll bulls**t an answer for ya!!

Thanks,

It's just off the M7 between Naas and Newbridge, I think its junction 10.
Just put Newhall into sat nav, might be listed.
Will confirm junction number at weekend

If you know where the BTW (tiles place) building is visable from the motorway, the B&Q is basically the other side of the motoway.

See you there!

I was just looking and noticed.........we only have 1 woman owner who is "possibly" going? I"m not sexist but i think all the other women owners in the club should make an extra effort to tie a knot in their aprons that day and hit the road in a kind of "show of strength" etc  ..........come on girls, you know you want to!!
