Hi Andy,

Try Rochestown Park Hotel, Silversprings Hotel or Montenotte Hotel. All have good parking but I have no idea of rates. paulc

Absolutely still on and if the weather holds it will be some run. I'm looking at routes down and back and how long it will take so I will do a further post by the weekend with a route map and a meeting time etc.

Shena, Do you want to meet us in Cork or will we pick you up along the way?

Hi guys,

Thinking of coming down from Limerick for this. Can you post roughly what time this might be getting underway and from where.?
Also if anybody else is staying down in Cork and where.??

@Fla, will you be sorted out by then.??

Regards John.

I've tried in vain to copy the AA route planner map on here but it is still the same suggested route as I mentioned earlier. Meet in Bishopstown Court Shopping Centre (Dunnes Stores) which is on the City Ring Road N40 Exit 3. I am reckoning a 6.30pm meeting time which hopefully gets us on the road before 7. It's approx two and a half hours down to Mizeh Head so we should be there by 9.30 approx. Sundown is around 9.45. Route down is out towards Macroom initially then on to Coppeen, Dunmanway, Durrus, Goleen and Mizen, returning via Skibbereen, Clonakilty etc. I will have a map printed for everyone on the night. I estimate we should be back into the city 12.30 to 1. Cork to Mizen is about 85 miles but once you get into 'real west cork roads' progress will slow but well worth the effort. Are people OK with the above times? I am happy to head off earlier and take our time (!) to see the sights, just let me know. paulc.

Weather looks really great for Saturday, keeping the fingers crossed. Not certain how many are coming from up the country Andy, but you will get a warm welcome when you arrive. Just bring the sun glasses to wear as we head towards the setting sun. paulc

The GF is finishing at 7pm on saturday, and same for Kieran (Mx5ideways), so we might have to catch up with you guys on the way.. Are you stopping anywhere on the way? Unless you can wait for us a few minutes extra near Cork?
