ah, yeah, reading my post again it sounds like it was raining all day, there was lots of sunny non-hardtop weather in there too :-)

Great spin today. Fair play to the route planners:)
Also had to stop during a monsoon in Loughrea, lovely puddle-dodging fun all the way home!

Great spin. 17 cars in the end so great turnout. Weather was very kind up to about 3.15 when we decided to be civilised and have a picnic at one of the picnic tables at Lough Boora Parklands. No sooner had we the table set but the heavens opened up and continued to dump water on us. Salvaged most of the food but, afraid to say, the remaining Jaffa cakes just didn't make it
We didn't get a chance to explore the parklands, we will have to leave that for another day. All in all, we got the best of the weather for the run and I hope everyone enjoyed it. Great to meet new faces and hook up with the old faces. Roll on the next run.

Hi lads,
Fun day out at the first mx5 run of the year. Great to meet some new faces and the assortment of 5s.

BIG thank you to Steve and Brian for sorting me out with new water pump belt which snapped close to Junction 17.
Luckily I was very close to base otherwise it was recovery truck home.! There was some major floods on the back roads home and some torrential rain nearer to home which made driving nearly impossible.

Thanks too to Autochrck for the needed spare parts too.
Til the next run guys,
Cheers.
John.

Yes ,great day although the back end of my mx5 got a bit loose a few times especiallly entering the Boora Parklands.Dodgy Firenze tyres are crap .Great dyay all the same and nice to meet the lads .Only disappointment is I did,nt get any cake........Had to eat damp ham sandwiches and its tough to butter bread in drivers seat of mx5 without getting covered in butter, while holding a cup of tea.!! Good craic all round.Got home in around 1hr and 15min with steady 70mph .Bit deaf today though .Defo need a bigger silencer ....

Thanks to Paschal and all the lads for a fun day out over a good route; great to have a chat and learn a bit from experienced MX5 enthusiasts. Unfortunately or fortunately that heavy rain has led me to discover a leak from the back of my roof into the boot where water has been gathering it seems. The drain holes are clear so does this mean I have a cracked rain rail? is this a big job to sort ? Any information is appreciated.
Regards, Gerard.

Really enjoyed the run on Sunday the first in my MX5 and looking forward to lots more. Thanks to Paschal for organising and picking a terrific route. I had a very wet drive home to Bray but the MX5 didn't miss a beat :)
