The Clare run would suit you as well I'd say.

Hi all,
Not wanting to step on any toes I've delayed replying to this post till now. If there is sufficient interest, I'd be willing to organise a run around Co. Galway, probably in July 2018. I know there is lots of events on at that time so it might not suit but I don't want to clash with the Co. Clare run.
As the Wild Atlantic Way has really taken off in the past few years and hotels/pubs can be very busy, could I suggest bringing a picnic and taking in a few of the historical sites along the way... Two possibilities occur to me.
1. Start Spiddal where I am based, head out across the coast and bog road to the Marconi site near Clifden via Roundstone, back via Oughterard to Galway.
2. Start Spiddal, head out to Cong via Lough Nafooey. Tour of Cong Abbey. Back via Headford to Galway.
Both tours ending in Galway where there is many restaurants/hotels to choose from.
It would be great to see a group of MX5s on Connemara roads again. Let me know your thoughts...
Sean

Never been to Galway, I'm only 'over the road'

Both routes look interesting

Is the above correct?

Hi James,
First map is spot on. Second only shows latter half of the route... Start at Spiddal, on to Oughterard via Seanafeisin bog road, then Maum Cross, Maum Bridge to Lough Nafooey etc. Cars can top up with food and fuel at the Texaco in Spiddal at start.

Hi James, haven't got any timings, but I know the NW England club are doing the Ring of Kerry on Tuesday 10th, Dingle on Wednesday and Beara on Thursday. They are staying at the Kenmare Bay hotel.

James, hang a right at Maam cross and head to Leenane for lunch. Great road and good spot for lunch there.
Think we posted maps from previous runs in the forum here. Will have a dig later.
