Remove the aerial mast

Postby fez » Thu, 14 Mar 2013 1:54 +0000

Trying to install a stubby aerial kit from mx5 parts. anywhere I've googled for removing the aerial mast says that it unscrews from the base with 2 flat edges on the last parts. However mine is round all the way down. I'm very confused. Maybe I have an aftermarket unit. Does anyone know if the Eunos S Special came with manual or electric aerial?

is there a screw on it on the inside of the body work or is there a finisher over the part with the flat edges?

on the outside it's held by a nut, with a metallic curved washer thing, then a rubber thing which slots into a slotted dome. On the underside it's got a thing with teeth that grip into the body when its tightened. I hope this makes sense.

You probably have an after market part there.
Best to just 'look' on the outside for where a spanner can grip and 'look' underside near the battery where another spanner can grip.
Other than that the main aerial could just screw off by itself and then you'll be able to see how the 'mount' is connected to the car.
Hey, post up some pics and we'll tell you !!
