Handbrake

Postby Randy » Fri, 06 Sep 2013 10:34 +0000

Hi Folks.
So I just bought an mx5, mk2 1.8, and the only problem mechanically is the handbrake. It's just got no grip at all.
Now the fella I bought it off said we was underneath and was going to see if it just needed to be tightened, but says it's a "strange" setup compared to other cars.
Is this true? Would I better off getting someone else to look at it?

ya theres a little allen key hidden behind a 14mm bolt. think its a 6mm allen key on mk2s. look up how to adjust it theres lots of walkthroughs.

Yeah having a look. Doesn't seem too bad. It's just behind the rear calipers, right?
Must have a look for an illustrated guide. :p
