Flip up lights

Having a problem with one of my lights. When it closes it is not closing straight and ends up with the corner of the light housing crushing down on the bonnet.
i have a missing/loose bolt on one of the hinges but even with that replaced the problem persists. Can't see anything obvious causing it.
Does the raising/lowering mechanism contain just the central lift arm and the two hinged bolts or is there something else I can check. Before the light eats my paintwork

Is it the light itself or just the top cover Ferg that's rubbing ?
Cover can be adjusted, I think the control arm is set at the same level as the other side...

Hiya Fergus
It's the whole light unit. Sits perfectly when it's up but comes down about an inch or so off. Landing with the corner on the bonnet. Can't see anything obvious to adjust. That doesn't mean it's not there. Just I can't spot it.
I've had the lights up all week to avoid scratching the paint

Not a long term solution

I have a similar issue; when the lights go up then the right hand side pops down about an inch, not good for night driving... figured the arm mech was worn... shoved in a rubber washer & it worked for a while but the same issue is back... your prob sounds like the arm mech (sorry not enough coffee to get proper wording!) is warped, bent or something like that. ya could take it all out give it a once over & replace?

I think you could be right Bingus. I reckon the arm got f****d up when the hinge bolt fell out. It would have been bouncing around a bit I suppose.
