Heating

Postby graham » Sun, 03 Jan 2010 9:33 +0000

I'm having a problem with the heating in the car...

1. It never gets very warm, warm but not warm enough!

2. Cold air comes form the passenger side when I have the heating on, even when the air should be coming out at the windscreen.

I know it's not the thermostat as I only fitted a new one recently.

Any suggestions?

Also it looks like my clutch is on the way out as its revving a bit on acceleration, what parts do I need?

Have the same problem. No heat, just warm air.
Discovered the t-piece leaking on the stat housing so made up a new one. New coolant added and still no heat. Found pin hole in Rad top hose so replaced that. No heat still so brought her out for a spin last night and temp not rising above 1/4 so gonna change stat. If that dont work ill light a fire in the fecker!!!!!!!

I changed my thermostat, thermostat housing, new coolant etc in August so all that should be fine, I don't think there are any leaks, the temp dial goes to about half way, I can still get some warm air out of the center vents, but it's just not warm enough.

Tried this ?
Heater cable adjust

Or.. check the hose connection.. remove the glove box (2 screw under the hinge lip, or you could just assume "the position") and check to see if the heater hose is attached correctly, the clips can pop off.

so.. it must be an airflow to heater matrix or flap not opening issue.. ?

Having the same problem with lack of heat - suspect its since I had the new stereo put in during last summer - so going to investigate behind the glovebox and look at cables/flaps - until then its on with the thermals

sorted, well sort of????

Got a new stat today and went about fitting this evening to discover........................................... THERE WAS NO FECKIN STAT IN THE FECKER AT ALL. AAAAAAAAAAAARGH !!!!!!!!

Anyway, when i cooled down and the wee gersha warmed up and got all her windies up i went for a spin but thats all i did was spin and spin and spin and grin and grin and grin. Great crack but couldnt go quick enough to really load her up.

Temp thro vents about 18- 20 deg, not great but much better. Temp gauge still showing half so i presume they are not that accurate??????
