Going to try finish off the car the weekend so the coilovers will be going in.

Is there any witchcraft type info I need before I do them? I keep reading stuff about long bolt methods and removing this and that. Will they really not just slide out? Mostly used to dealing with s body's and just pull the whole strut and put new one back in.

I want to use the top mounts so is there any particular way to go about it? and no I will not use spring clamps Just because I refuse to buy expensive ones and I have had cheap ones split on me previously.

Both currently have standard suspension yup.

You'll need compressors man. you wont get them out other wise. you wont need compressors for the coilovers though.. they're small enough to squeeze in. on the back if you unbolt the top arm and the roll bar drop link you can drop the bottom arm and they pop out no bother!

A right so its that they actually won't fit out because you need them shorter while they are on the car?

Well aren't you the man. Maybe you should pull your head out of wherever you have it stuck.

I have changed countless shocks and never had to use a spring clamps while on a car. Not sure why an mx5 would be so different but we will see tomorrow.

As I said I will not be using spring clamps on or off the car. I do not trust them and with good reason.

This is one for you've been framed.........
