Crank pulley key way

Postby Merlot man » Tue, 22 Jul 2014 10:17 +0000

Hello all,
I'm planning on doing the timing belt, oil seals and water pump in the next while .
I was wondering about the crankshaft oil seal and how to get the pulley key way out ,I understand that it can be a bit of a pain! Any help would be great or am I making too big a deal of this ?
Thanks in advance
Brian

Hi Brian
The biggest issue sometimes is getting the centre bolt opened and re tightened enough afterwards . Other than that is very straightforward. The key way pin itself has very slight taper on one end and one side only (no t the other 3 sides) so it only actually goes in one particular way. Before you remove the pin measure how much is protruding and make sure when putting it back in only the same amount is protruding. Unfortunately you are too far away for me to help you but if you want to call me I can talk you through it .

9th of Aug could be a runner for me, I'll let you know closer to the date. I could also pop down some evening.
