Hey everyone, need some advice for my mk3 or general advice. I was away on holidays for 2 weeks and when I drove the car (07 mk3) when I came back a bad rattle/banging was coming from the rear mostly going over bumps and holes. I noticed the right rear shock was leaking badly so I guess this is my issue.
Having looked it up on other forums it seems like a pretty big job for a messer like me! Does anyone know of good indie mechanics in say around cork or blackrock /mahon ? How much should I look to pay to change them out? And if I was buying them myself where is best?

Try Liam Hourihan of Ballinlough Motors, next door to the Orchard Bar on the Ballinlough Road. I got a local guy to look at it , rear shock was completely gone which is strange since it only has 70000 km . He changed it for 90 but the one shock was 200 expensive enough! I was going to change the other rear one too but the mechanic said it was hardly necessary and a good job too. Thanks for the advice by the way, I was worried something more than the shock was gone so that was a relief !
