I am looking to buy an Mx5.€2000

Hi folks. I am back in the market for a Mx5 again after been Mx5less for a few years. Like to know what I should expect for €2000. Have had two Mk1s in the past so know a bit

What size of engine are u after and what colour wud u prefer..?? Wud u prefer jap import??

I would expect a bit of work to do for 2k, I think these cars are going to hold their value really well for the next few years. Rusty bodies is the worst problem. If you find a rust free car, get it undersealed. This work will be worth more than a 1 or 2 owner low mileage car.
With road tax and speed restrictions increasing Irish car heads are copping on to how much fun these these cars despite their low power outputs.
Lots of Mk1's can be insured as a classic as a second car too.

Unfortunately the days of a clean mk1 with no rust and a perfect roof, good suspension/tyres and brakes are gone. Luckily all these issues are cheap ish to fix and if you know them easy too.

Buy a good one and it will only cost you a few hundred euro a year on consumables and with receipts for parts it will make the same or more money in a year or two. Good luck with the search.

We have jap ,really clean V spec 94 ,mct till May,BRG colour ,needs soft top but we have one at moment on black ( beige soft top fitted at moment) NO RUST !!! ,but we will have more soft tops in 086 8226506
