The day has eventually come to move my (wife’s!) mk2.5 MX5 on. Anyone familiar with the car will know it as a clean, very standard car, in one of the nicest colour combinations available, slate grey metallic with heated red/black leather seats. Currently showing 74,000 miles on the clock. I have succumbed to pressure from my beloved to allow her drive a car she can carry more than one passenger in and fit more shopping in the boot. The final straw came last weekend when my son, KevC on this forum, bought a ’92 mk1, so all excuses have now disappeared. I am advertising it here and on ‘backroads.com’ before taking the plunge and advertising it on Donedeal. The car has had three female owners, plus me, so has generally led an easy life. In the four years we have had it, my wife has rarely taken it outside the parish of Blackrock, so most of the current mileage has been put up by me at weekends. I will be sorry to see it go, but life is moving on and the drive way won’t remain empty for long.
The car can be viewed in Cork City, or if it suits I could be tempted to take a spin, within reason. If I end up advertising it on Donedeal, I will be asking €5000, but I am open to reasonable offers.
Good points,
• Just look at the photos,
• Very original, all I have added is a clock and colour matched front mud flaps
Bad points,
• Will need tyres before next NCT due to age, (just think of the fun you can have wearing them out!)
• One pin hole on the soft top, but does not leak. (always had a Hard Top on during winter months, but I have sold it to my son)
• One very small ding on drivers side rear wheel arch
PM for more details. Paulc
