I think the days of cheap Mk1's are over, I reckon. Not many 1989 examples are left so that one on Donedeal is rare enough.
Also, once they reach 30+ years old, I would bet that the values will take another hike.
They are gone pretty steep in the UK for decent ones from what I can see.

Yeah I’ve seen that one it’s on uk plates tho, was also looking at that automatic one but only really want a manual.

I agree, it would seem that prices have hit the bottom and are starting to rise (and good examples are certainly commanding - well, asking - top dollar). This trend is bound to continue for a while, especially when tax drops to €56 a year!

Andrew, it's not so bad to convert an auto '5 to a manual gearbox. MX5spares on here has done several of those swaps so you could talk to him.
If you found a good example, in your budget then it may well be worth considering.

@ Graham: Ah yes, roll on the €56 motor tax !! :)

I was considering that but wasn’t sure how much work was involved that auto is gone now anyway I think. Thanks for the info :D
