I would have thought that once the area gets a good compounding there should be very little difference in shading as long as the new paint is to the correct code? No??? It is all too easy to be over excited about not getting a 100% match, Maybe it's just me but once it's reasonably close , I'd be happy...but then again, I drove my 5 with a pink hue from the boot and bonnet for ages before being shamed into buffing it out...ah, memories!!

You are only buffing the clear coat not the paint

Have you considered selling the car "as seen"...would the price variation be greater or less than what you are gonna spend on putting it back perfect??? Just asking??
