Hi,
New to the forum and looking for my first mx5. Just looking for a straight original mk1 1.8 with nothing/very little to do. I'd love a vr-ltd but i know that's not likely. I've done a good bit of research so I have a reasonable idea of what to look for when viewing but any advice is appreciated. I have been keeping an eye on the for sale section for a while and of course donedeal etc but havn't found a car I like and id prefer not to have to go across the water

If anyone knows of anything please let me know.
Thanks.

Mk1 1.8 is what I'm after. Why would a uk car be more Likely to be rotten than an Irish car? We salt our roads too.

Take Roberts advice the English cars are mostly rot boxes ,they seem to salt the roads alot more than us ,also the cost of going there and bringing it back plus my favourite ,VRT !!!!!
I sold my mk1 into England last month ,man couldn't get over how rust free it was.
Also ,in my opinion really good cars are way under priced here.
Keep in contact with Robert as any car he sells is a good one ie little/no rust and he can supply/fit any part for you .
Best of luck with the search and keep in touch
