1.8 brake carriers

looking for mk1 1.8 brake carriers, ive been told I can upgrade to 1.8 brakes with just these replaced can anyone confirm ?

Are you taking about a Mk1 ? If so, yes, it is just the carrier that is needed. However, some are of the belief that stock 1.6 disks with genuine Mazda brake pads are just as good.

hey thanks for reply, im looking to fit a hydro and heard 1.6 breaks arnt good enough so thought id upgrade as I need all new pads and discs

I have no experience of hydro handbrakes. But thinking about it, the 1.8 conversion still uses the stock 1.6 calipers so, for hydro purposes at least, are the 1.8 disks/pads really an upgrade for handbrake purposes ? I don't know the answer but maybe something to look into perhaps ?
