Waaaaa, waaaaa!

OK, enough baby sounds.

I'm Ben. I'm of an age where I should have a sensible car, not MX5. :)

I've just joined your forum because I'm hoping to make contact with a few MX5 owners here who might want to meet someone with the same interests.
Irish girls, haha!

Here's why I joined (I'll elaborate more when I learn more):
I'm due in Ireland in July, reuniting with the Mrs who will be back with her family this month. We will behere until the end of August.

Happy Days!

Mrs wants to show me the Ring of Kerry and lots of other scenic places. I'd love to see these places while driving us in a MX5, if it makes sense to my wallet.

So aside from your tips on good places to drive, I'm hoping to research whether it's insane, idiotic, risky or perhaps even a good idea to find a tatty but reasonable old MX5 for a lowish price and use it while we're here, then advertise it soon after and try to sell it before we leave. Maybe auction it if we have to.

I'd love to hear from you.

If all turns to poo, I can just start crying like a baby!

Thanks for reading. Yes I am from Australia, in case you didn't get my handle.
On mx5cartalk.com.au I am known as Bizi and on some frequent flyer forums, as BiziBB.

Enjoy your summer and think of Ozi freezing here in Sydney. We have a brief, sometimes bitter winter. Not terrible but not beautiful, just cold and quite wet this year.

Cheers,
Ben

Hi there1
There are a few mx5 for sale cheap, but you may find it very difficult to sell afterwords.
Car market is saturated with cars for sale, so good deals can be found.
Good luck

Three nights to go before some extensive flying. Arriving Monday into DUB.

Here is what a good example of my NA Clubman looks like:

I will miss driving it if there's no chance of a MX5 drive in Ireland. :(

Is there an Events or meets thread here, somewhere? I'm hoping to meet with some people from the FlyerTalk forum, while in Ireland and hope to do the same with some members of mx5ireland, too.

Here's a playground shot. Do ye' all get your cars on the driveways like this one?

Yes, Shannons are huge here. That's the founder's name and guess why it's green. :)
Big in insurance for 'enthusiasts' here. :)

Ben

Now about to go onto SYD runway on SQ212! :D

Update from Sydney, Australia: We're ticketed to be back, in late July 2012!
Have flights to FRA (at least), arriving 19 July.
Possibly doing a day trip or short stay in Germany, then on to DUB.

Per my messages last year: My dream of buying a cheap MX5 during our month in IE:
PS. I found a LE, nicely modded NA 1.8 Roadster with some tasteful parts, including bug eyes.
Fully running, for just EU$950!

Someone, PLEASE check it out. D plates. I'd definitely get it if I was nearby.
Get it and I can rent it from you in July-August! :) OK, I am dreaming...

Is this interesting to anyone here - even as a bargain that you can rent out to me to partially recoup the cost? :)

Cheers and I look forward to seeing you again! I'll try to post a link in FS, too. Good luck, if you are interested. I hope it goes to someone who visits this forum.
