Hey Steve,

I have had a DV camcorder for several years, it died on me, I had it repaired under warranty last year but haven't used it since.. while it was off getting fixed I bought a Fujifilm S5700 + a large SD memory card. We've used it for video many times and are v.happy with the results. Unless you are after production quality vid, the latest digital cameras are worth looking at as an alternative. They're as good as camcorders from just a couple of years ago now + SDs are plentiful!

the S5800 is here (8MP) for 117e!

Just bought one today :)

JVC MG330

30gb hard drive and MicroSD slot feckin brill for editing (drag and drop) and quality is great....

I was getting some advice to go for miniDV, but I had a Hi-8 before and I'm fed up with the tapes...... Hard drive or SD card is def the way to go for an amateur like me

All ready for the christening tomorrow........;)
