Ironically I got a text from a Journo mate of mine saying he got word of a 1c tax on texts. And its the Greens that are proposing it to raise funds. :roll:

Yeah i heard it mentioned in the Dail yesterday.
I think it's a great idea. 1.4Billion they say they will get from it.
Better than more income tax rises....or petrol hikes

Does seem a good way to collect a few bob alright and young people generally don't have much of a voice in this country so it should be reasonably hassle free to implement.

If I was in Govt I'd go for it. Of course if I was in Govt we wouldn't be in this position. We'd have invaded Switzerland long ago.
