Mazda Mx5 for drifting :) *Info*

Postby tdi-red di » Mon, 05 May 2014 5:35 +0000

Hello lads, How are things ? :) Hope im posting thisin the right place..well anyways, Im currently on the look for a Mazda Mx5 for drifting :) (Have an ad in the wanted section actually). Just a few questions..

1.)Is the Mx5 a good choice
2.)Are they reliable enough
3.)Is there enough power in them
4.)Which version of the Mx5 is more suitable for drifting 1.6 or 1.8 ect..
5.) How hard are they to turbo
6.)Will a welded diff serve a purpose for the time being
7.)Where's the best place to go looking for a cheap Mazda like one suitable for drifting

All other advice is much appreciated, there such a cool car that id rather one of them than an ould hen house of a BMW :)

Thanks lads :)

I have 1 for drifting and i think it goes perfect with standard power you just need to be more comited than in a silvia as you will have to head into the corner faster to carry through speed. A welded diff is an essential if your gonna be on track and as for reliable i have never really had a problem with both mine. The last day i was on track was dry and i put 170kms on the car and only went through 1 set of tyres so was cheap enough day as my freind ib his silvia went though 3 sets and i got more driving than him.
