Hi,

My MX-5 and I were recently in a crash and I wanted to know if

a. the roof seals can be broken in an impact where roof hasn't gone out of alignment and
b. is there an assessor in the cork area who deals with or has knowledge of MX-5s who could assess my car properly?

Thanking you....

Hi Cat..although this thread is called "ask Mazda", don't expect them to reply....long story. I see you're query has been taken up by Dastig, he knows the insurance stuff

Cat, I have'nt forgot you - hang fire, I'll hopefully have the name of a cork based assesor. I relayed your story and you will indeed need your own assesor but you need to be sure that the original assesment is not correct (ie, the new assesor can validate your feeling that the roof is damamged etc)
Also, i'll doubt you find any assesor who specialises in softtops (maybe in Miami  ) but they are all (alledgedly) motor engineers and should know whats what, if not, they should work in a chipper

Hang fire for a pm for me.

O

One of the main assessors that crops up around cork is George Ballard:

Been at this game for yonks it seems. Not sure what his pedigree would be for MX5's, he aint cheap either I dont think ...
