Would have liked it in red my self. Hard to get one thats not rubbish
so you can't be too fussy about the colour.

Only sold mine in January. I had the beams edition 200hp na, super engine.
Bit dissapointing to drive, made the mistake of thinking it would be a 200hp fixed roof 5!
Hated the steering , devoid of feel. Car handled well by normal car standards and was quite fast and balanced on a good dry road but terrible in the wet, understeered on slow corners and oversteered on fast sweepers!

No It's not an mx5, does handle totaly different.
Proper tyres and learn how to drive it would sort all that out.

I did like it though!! But you really need to know what your doing to drive that hard in the wet, theres no way I would of let the missus drive it if it was pissing down!!
It kind of drove like a bigger car than it was but it was well balanced in fast corners when the road was dry.

Exactly!
Good tyres really made a big difference in the wet, but they only lasted 5,000 miles

I had cheapo tyres at the back, nexen or some sort, they were new and were the right size but probably not very good. the biggest thing i didnt like was the steering though very little feel, qute slow and artificially heavy

I'd agree there the feel is limited. Between that and the crap tyres most people put on them I reckon is the reason most of them are crashed.

Mine ran low on PS fluid once so the PS wasn't working, it was a much better car
you could feel everything back from the steering. Forget trying to park it.

You see because there is no weight on the front the steering should actually be much lighter and have loads of feel like an elise or a porsche for that matter, I reckon they delibertly weighted it up to make it feel like a normal car, the reason for which escapes me and because of the way the car is balanced I would be sure that they fitted a relatively slow rack, which would make the car feel less nervous. Its a shame because imho you cant have fast enough steering! It just seems that with the steering that my car had it took away some of the big plusses to having a mid engined car.
But I think the best thing about mid engined cars is the ability to load up the outside rear wheel and balance them mid corner on the throttle, and it was good at that, better than a 5.
