Bonnet pins or not???
Posted: Fri, 17 Sep 2010 11:56 +0000The bonnet on my mx5 is fiber glass and it doesn't fit 100%. It doesn't sit flush with the wings and looks high off the pop up lights. It is tight at the hinge and at the latch at the front so i can't really do anything with it. I'll probably have to get a different bonnet at some stage but don't have the money at the minute as i'm getting married next April so all my money is going into that!!
I was thinking of installing bonnet pins for now to try and pull the bonnet down to meet the wings and lights. I was just wondering how they would look? I would have to put them above the lights for them to do what i want. would they have a good pull on the bonnet to pull it down that far?( 1/4 to 1/2 inch). My mx5 is black with chrome trim so not sure if i'd go for silver ones or black ones? Any advice or photos of mx5's with bonnet pins would be appreciated!
