Hi all wondering if anyone could answer this question. On my mark 1 there are 3 blank switches on the driver side . I popped the blanks out and there is wiring behind all them ! I have booked my car in for Nct and believe it will fail due to a lack of a rear fog light. Does anyone know if any of these deity he's connect for a rear fog light or what any of the switches are for? Cheers

Hey Mick, It shouldn't fail without a rear fog light (just passed myself a couple of weeks ago) but, you will fail if you have a rear fog light fitted and it doesn't work. The harnesses are for front fogs, dash dimmer and hardtop demister I think.

Cheers Steve it doesn't have a rear fog fitted. It was last Nct last year and was wondering about the fact that it hadn't got a fog light. Thanks a mill

There are various switches available, front fog, rear fog, front and rear fog combined (rare as rocking horse poo) elec mirrors, dash dimmer (this is one that the blank has a wire connected to if no dimmer fitted- if this is unplugged you dash lights won't work)

Hi Mick. I think one is the ejector seat for non 5 lovers !!
Thanks steve, You've answered my question about my rear fog light not working for the NCT I thought it might fail on anything that was on there and not working. First thing Monday morning it will be put in for it's tyres and then to the Sparky for the fogs to be fixed.
Thanks again for the springs Mel

Mel, there may not be a fog light on your car. Some jap imports had a wee square one fitted on the back bumper. The brake light on the boot-lid of mine has been converted to a fog-light.

I have a toggle switch in one of those blanks, it has an amber light that goes on if the headlights are on. No idea what it does though,... Anyone?

Hey Barney/ Yes I have a small square fog light on the back and two yellow ones on front these stopped working when my lights stopped but now the headlights work again and not the fogs, I've changed the bulbs and nothing, so will pass it over to my sparky Mel

You sure there's not a separate fuse for the fogs.
