I would be in the market for a roof in the next few weeks as well. Group buy sounds like a good idea.

I'd also be interested in the group buy, it might save a few pound in shipping costs at least I spoke to them a couple of weeks ago and was quoted £360 + £40 shipping for canvas (is that the same as mohair?). What was the £315 quote for?

if 5 people can get together i can do a group buy on mohair hoods...

£330 stg for a mk2 with glass window in black or
£250 for a mk1 mohair in black with zip out plastic window

i do not supply or fit vinyl hoods so please do not ask

coloured hoods can be supplied but these incur an additional £30 charge. - red , green , navy , beige, tan etc

all i ask is payment upfront and collection from me in Co.Down or i can post for £20

I can offer fitting for £95 this would include repairs to the rain rail , if they are needed , however you might need new tension cables and these are an additional £20 a pair and i would advise you replace these along with the hood

can you tell me a bit more about the mk1 hoods you are offering? Are they from prestige autos, and if so, can you let me know which one it is, so I can read about it?

thanks

no , they are not prestige autotrim hoods.
The hoods im offering are the cheapest you will be offered anywhere, computer cut and stitched and brilliant quality.

all mk1 and mk2 hoods i offer have little gutters above the windows to stop rain rolling in aswell, which prestige hoods do not have.

the hoods im offering are the same ones moss-europe sell for £438-£449

Maybe set up a group buy in the group buy section and set a timeframe so we can get some numbers on this? I know I will have to get one before too long.

Paul would it be possible to put a thin Lexan tinted screen in instead of the plastic standard window.........?

not likely sean , the thing is it would need to be bonded in as lexan wouldnt exactly stitch :(
i have seen a few cars on minkars carview where jap owners cut out the plastic window and bond in lexan but it all looks a bit heath robinson.

dont forget the plastic windows in the hoods im offering are alot more flexible than an oem mazda window and more uv resistant so wont go brown and brittle as quickly

cos thats what the price list says on it :P

honestly tho , its either due to the manufacturing process of the other colours , ie the dyeing proess taking longer hence the fabric is more expensive or the cost of ordering a roll of said coloured mohair vs demand determines prices

i dunno, just the way it is

is this looking like its dead in the water or is anyone interested?

...this is probably the last group buy i will offer on hoods so if you want / need one you have until the 14th September to get your order in.

I got my mohair roof from Paul at charged_rs on here. Couldn't be better, not couldn't meet a nicer nor more obliging chap. Reasonable too, and perfectly fitted.
