Painters.

Postby Real Rayzor » Wed, 11 May 2016 12:04 +0000

Hi All...

Can anyone recommend car painters in the Clare area. I'm looking to get quotes for a full respray so I know what I'm in for.
I got one estimated quote today for €2000 minimum. Seems very high to me but I've no clue. Anyone had a full respray done and what kind of money approx.
Thanks
Ray

I would expect that for a good prep and quality job. You could cut down by doing prep yourself as that's what most time consuming and most important job. Have you considered wrapping? Generally half the price, looks and wears well. Maybe could be an option..

1500/1700 average if you strip all the bits off it ,ie trims, door handles, lamps, bumpers etc

I was thinking to just let the professionals to do all of it because I want this car looking the best it can, but now I'm thinking I should do the prep work myself to try and bring down the price.

Hi Deivis,
Do you know of any companies that do it in the munster area. I'd certainly look into it.

Know few Polish lads that do some work. I'll call into their place and see what's the story. Will get back to you.

I'm having to do the same. Got similar 2k quote in Kerry but should be a lot less once I remove all plastics, trims rubbers etc. I'd like to think €1500 would be fair for a respray with good lacquer. I mean the car is tiny and has no roof..!!

I'd give Canavan here outside Lahinch a shout easy to deal with and a good painter .
To save money I'd be doing the tear down and rebuild myself but letting the painter do the body work prep , There's a lot more work in that than you think ! And you can't be blamed if it goes wrong
Make sure all your rust eliminating / proofing and under sealing I'd done before hand
Anyway this man is Martin Canavan 085 7842796 065 7071805
Best of luck with it , it's a project I must do myself on the mk2

Another painter I thought about is Mick Clancy outside Ennis . I think he now paints aeroplanes in Shannon during the week and does cars at home at the weekend , I had his son In class last year , both gents .
