Silica Gel is hard enough to come by... But I manage the pet shop in Blanchardstown and we sell Silica cat litter that does exactly the same job. I'm using it myself and it seems to be working. If anyone's interested, it's really cheap and if you come in and ask for me I'll sort you out with a discount

Update to this, I was in homestore and more a few weeks back and got a dehumidifier thing for caravans and stuff, wedged it between the passenger seat and centre console, doing a grand job so far!

yes I have seen them in a few cars and they had plenty of water in them so obviously they work

Are you all 'storing' your cars outside or what ?
There should be no dampness inside an Mx5 unless (1) your seals are gone (2) your leaving the air vents open (3) your softop is not protected (sealed if it's Mohair) (4) the drain holes are blocked up or (5) the rainrail is cracked (or not there at all).
The Mx5 is designed to be out in all weather fokes

That's one of the main causes of dampness inside an Mx5 after window seals etc
