Standard dial faces ?

Postby 93 Mk1 » Sat, 02 Sep 2017 4:28 +0000

When I bought my current V-Spec (years ago !), it came with Mazdaspeed white dial faces/red illumination. I changed the heater control
facia to illuminate red also. But now I'm thinking that I'd like to return to the original black faces with the stock green illumination.
Do any of you know if anybody sells the stock type dial faces, preferably in km/h but mp/h would do too ? All I can find online are modified
types รก la Revlimiter, Lockwood etc.

Cheers Robert. I'll give you a call. I might take the facia for the heater control panel as mine illuminates red like my clocks !

No, it's a different facia that I bought online years ago....I can't remember where from. It was a stick on type
thing that replaced the old item from green to red illumination.
To be fair the red illumination looks nice (and different) but I'm kind of hankering for a more stock look these
days. Must be an age related thing !!

Just to revive this subject a little, do any of you know if the standard instrument bulbs are T10's with green rubber covers over them ?
I'm referring to the NA cluster.

The big ones are T10/194 and the small ones are T5/74 as far as I remember , the larger ones def have the green covers, think I remember seeing packets of replacement covers on ebay a while back.

Thanks for confirming that Steve. I'm going to order those covers and then see where I am as regards putting my illumination back to standard.

I've been finding it difficult enough to source the green bulb covers mentioned above, at least this side of the Atlantic ! I had spares of the red type but no green. Typical !! However, a bit of persistence paid off and I ordered these via eBay. I ordered two packets of 4 as I have auxiliary gauges too:
