wind deflector

Postby Navin » Sat, 16 Apr 2011 5:54 +0000

hey all, i want to fit a wind deflector to my 5, has anyone got one and are they any good?
I have a roll bar behind my seats with a bar at each end going back onto the parcel shelf so i can't fit one on.
I've seen ones that strap onto the back of the seats but i don't think they look that good.
I was going to get one made out of perspex and fit it onto the roll bar that i have. What i need to know though is does it need to be at an angle or will it do at 90 degrees to to parcel shelf? i must take a photo of my roll bar so you can see what i'm on about.

try this, i got some lexan from e bay, bronze tinted and will fit it soon. Do not use perspex as it will slice you in 2 in a crash........god forbid.

Got an e mail back from them saying it would be £35 for the sheet and £20 to post which works out to be around €62. thats from gfgplasticfabricationsltd.
There is a company in my town called kelplex displays in tallow co. waterford that works with that stuff too and he said if i make a card board template that
he will cut it to size on the machine and round the edges for €70 which an't bad so i might go with that instead, it will save a lot of time trying to cut it and
the edges will be rounded too like a car window would be. Happy days!! just hope it works now!!!!

That's to supply and cut it. I'd have to fit it myself but that wouldn't be to bad. I'll probably go with that. I must just make a cardboard template for him to work from.
