Hi Guys & Gals,

Hopefully you can help me, when the car is sitting static in the rain the seals above the door window fill up with water & then empty themselves all over me as soon as I drive off.

I have re-seated the seals, adjusted the stop height on the windows, everything I can possible think of & it's still happening. HELP HELP HELP.......

I think your down to 2 things, replace the seals and if that doesn't work it could be your in need of a new roof. How old id it?
Mine has shrunk over time and it does the same thing.

Hi Ash,

It's a 1999 Mk2 and I can't afford a new roof so let's just pretend you didn't say that. :D

Have you tried cleaning out the drain lines in the front door. were the water is gathering int the bell ish shaped bit at the top of the door the water should run out of the bottom of that down the front of the door and out. Just make sure that's not blocked.

That said. I got a good wetting yesterday on the way home. Dripping down from that very area. sometimes there's just too much water falling for the poor five to deal with I think.

ditto to this, I had cleaned out the drain holes with a coat hanger (as suggested by webcars.net!) one day last week and took 17 years worth of dust and grot out. thought I had done great until I got soaked this morning as I drove off. Sheesh......

:( :( :( :(

Oh well, I guess I'll just have to put the sailing gear on before I go for a spin. I'm probably going to go to Traynor's scrap yard this weekend & see what condition the roofs are in there, might get a deal.
