Lambda sensor

Postby hazel » Tue, 07 Jun 2011 9:19 +0000

Hi guys
My 10AE 1999 MK2 1.8 failed the NCT on Emissions. Im told from the readings the most likely cause is the Lambda sensor. Where can i get one for the most reasonable price as ive been on holidays and only have a few days left to get this sorted before retest.

Best regards Hazel

this ones cheaper and its for the engine you have (BP5A).

BUT IM NEARLY SURE THE BP5A DOESNT HAVE A REAR LAMBDA..........IN FACT, IT DONT.

Hi
Thanks for the reply. I agree that there does not appear a rear sensor so would that one be compatible with the front one ie having the same connector?
The secondhand one is definitely cheap but what are the odds of it working correctly do you think? In fairness the sellers feedback is very good.
Decisions decisions! I have in fact fitted a Bosch compatible one and am getting the emissions checked again this evening. I will feedback how i got on. I know not everyone has reported great success with non-original ones but i have had to roll the dice on this one having backed myself into a corner with available time. Fingers crossed best regards Hazel 8)
