VLSD in a non LSD MK1

Postby [L'e$kro] » Wed, 28 May 2014 12:31 +0000

Hi lads

I lad in France has a late (1997) euro NA/MK1, with the detuned 1.6 90hp. Apparently the diff is an open one.
I was wondering if an Eunos Roadster Viscous LSD would be a straight swap, or if he'd need the prop-shaft and half-shafts too?
Cheers!

OK so had a reply on a french mx5 forum. Late MK1s with the 90hp 1.6 have a 1.8 style open diff.
So yes, it would require swapping the props-haft and half shafts from an early 1.6 along with the VLSD.
