Took out the AC yesterday all except for the compressor mounting bracket, seem to remember a mention of shorter bolts or engine leaks anyone know anything about this?

No keeping the power steering for the moment.

The only bit left in the AC is the support bracket, which bolts to the block. I'll leave it there for the moment until I'm sure.

I used the shorter belt for non AC cars, frees up a lot of space for the IC pipes and the big bonus is being able to use the AC rad mounting points for the support frame of the IC. Made a nice rectangular bracket from 1" L section for the horizontals and flat 1" for the verticals, welded on 4 small L brackets to bolt the IC to the frame.

i'll post some pics when its all done.

Cool! My IC is held in with wire, the intercooler pipes themselves, zip ties and a bit of luck ;-) Need to get an Aldi welder.

Do you mean the AC compressor mounting bracket (the big iron lump bolted to the block)?
