Trouble with my Roadster

I have trouble with my MX5 as well. Shit week for me... Both cars are crazy... Its a 97 jap import 1.8
When i start the engine in the morning, it drops the rev. The engine almost stops, but never stops. It does for a few minutes. Every time drops the rev down u can hear a clicking sound as well. (It sounds like a relay). Anyone had this before? Plugs were changed 2weeks ago. Sometimes from low rev when i accelerate it halts for a second. This happens as well when the engine is warm...
Any ideas? Thanks very much!

Try starting it from cold in the dark too and see if your coil pack is arcing, you should see sparks near it.

Or ... is it an exhaust manifold leak? Is it ticking "in time" to the engine?
If it is, it might explain why the revs are dropping too (running too rich due to incorrect O2 sensor readings).

Can you follow exactly were the click is coming from? Look up over the pedals at the relays. I believe there is a fuel pump one here ... am think this might be faulty and maybe switching out fuel pump momentarily and hence causing engine to die a little ...

Thanks everybody for the help, i sorted a new set by the afternoon! It went completly wrong this morning. I almost could't make it till my mechanic...
Still dont know what was the clicking sound... It came from under the dashboard... Maybe when the sparks gone, the AC pump turned off itself?
