1.8 MK1 Engine loom

Postby Jellybean » Fri, 19 Jul 2013 4:37 +0000

Hey

After finished the rollcage painting, we have put the dash back in , we noticed the ground over by the Passenger glove box area was cut so we hope that solves the electrics not working issue (lights popping up, windows etc)

We got the passenger glove box side lighting working but not the corresponding drivers side on the right of the radio, also after connecting the dash cluster , no dash lights and we also are left with three block connectors (1 light blue) ; we think these went into the blanking button plate slots on the drivers side dash , left of the ignition barrel, below the dash cluster.

We had two spade terminals that connected in behind the glovebox area (between glove box firewall and the center of the firewall) to what looked like the heating/aircon system, half way up the firewall; any idea's what these are off?

any ideas? I can get pics and more details of the loom sockets

Hi jellybean

You need the blank or dash light dimmer switch fitted down by the ignition for the dash lights to work. If you need the space for for somthing else you could just bridge the connector with 2 male spades and a bit of wire. The spades behind the glovebox go onto terminals on the right hand side of the aircon unit.
