Services

I have a 1998 1.6 MK1 with 102,000 miles on the clock. Timing belt done at 75,000 miles..

Have had regular oil changes and well maintained car. Want to get it serviced, am thinking of just getting oil / filter change, as full service is about twice as expensive and not sure what they really do to for the extra dosh (check the seatbelts work :)

Anything else I should be asking them to check? Or is a full service worthwhile?

Thanks..

Where are you based? Id say they will just change the plugs which is a good idea. but if i were you id do all that myself its really not difficult and for the price of a full service you can have new plug leads and everything. if youre near cork ill help you out.

check the brakes (disks, pads, fluid). Gearbox oil, engine oil, filter, diff oil, tyres (especially the side walls), power steering fluid, condition of the belts, holes in the exhaust, etc
