Steering Wheel Off Centre

Hi lads, I just got this 2003 1.8 and driving on the Motorway I noticed that the steering wheel is not centred with the wheels, so when driving straight the wheel is slightly to the left but it wasn't pulling one way or the other. When I got home I noticed the left front wheel was a good bit out of alignment (it may have got a bang or something) but so I adjusted the tracking to get it visually straight before I get it done by a pro with lazers etc.
But whatever about the wheel being out do you know why the wheel is off centre, cause its annoying the fu*k out of me...

I'd try turning in the left tierod two turns and opening out the right one two turns.
The guy doing the tracking should do this for you while he's at it anyway.

Thats a good idea Steve, I should prob just let them do their thing and then see if I still have the problem

Could it be that someone had the steering wheel off for some reason and didn't replace it on the correct spline?? If it's still off following the alignment then I'd say reset the steering wheel!!

Straighten the wheels and remove/refit the wheel in correct position .No problem and if it has airbag just disconnect battery FIRST.Make sure you turn the "clock spring" ( the piece fitted behind the steering wheel) if fitted to align correctly with the cut outs in the back of the steering wheel itself.Do not turn it too much.Just enough to align with the wheel.This cancels the indicators after turning so you need it working.Any problems just give me a call and I can talk you through it¬¬
