Touch up kits & chip repair - halfords

Postby Rebelbloke » Thu, 17 Feb 2011 6:20 +0000

Hey there, so I gave the car a power hose there last week & think I may have loosened a few flakes of paint on the car... D'oh! Also have an increasing selection of minor chips on front part of car near the air intake grille. Has anyone used the touch up kits from halfords? I've seen similar kits on mx5 parts also are they any good??

Trouble is I don't know the exact shade of my own car apart from the fact that it's red!

Thanks... ;0)

Same here. Would love a tip on a good touch up kit. I also have loads auto-glym stuff, but am looking for a good, easy to apply wax... Bring on the tips.

That Japanese stuff we bought last year is great (but expensive).

I found Nattys wax very good, I was using the red one but you would want the blue for dark coloured cars.

I have now moved on to bigger things....

However not really had a chance to use the harley wax much yet.

Cheers for the tips lads. Went for the halfords stuff for minor chips in the end. Have yet to try it out though. Also got some Autoglym washing liquid & wax which was fantastic. Car is shining like new! Just need to tackle the chips next ....

Hi rebel, which autoglym did you get as I have a few here (pink, red, black) and I'm not happy as they're gone after 2-3 decent showers...

I just got the standard red one... In fairness I can't comment on how long it will last yet as have only had 1light shower since applying it. Will have to wait & see how it holds up ...
