Hi lads and lassies... happy Easter.

April 2012 077.JPG

What did I do to it today?
I packed in 2 x50 boxes of my new book 'One Foot in Front of The Other' - and a massive projector screen, and got set up for a road trip to Cork. Still amazed at what you can do with a Mazda....

Glad the weather is good... but even then there are hazards for a topless MX5er on the mean streets of Dublin!

I guess that seats of MK1, MK2 and MK2.5 are interchangeable. It's true? I think that the fixation points of the MK3 is completelly different...

New rear tyres, Hankooks and a full allignment . 160euro .

Bipes set to pull 6 degrees timing and static set to 16degrees.

8.8 Crystal removed as it caused a torque dip at 4500 rpm.

Car is now an utter joy . 6 speed with shortened shift is lovely to use and nicer than the 5 speed.

Need a good run now.

Nice, better neck/ head support?

Do they sit you any lower or higher than the originals?

I haven't driven with them yet (waiting for turbo manifold to come back from the US), but sitting on the drive they feel slightly higher, will see how they go.
I'll perform a foamectomy on them if they are too high.
Yes, much better head/neck support for someone my height w/long back (the mk1 seat's headrests only came up to the back of my neck).

Fitted the new brake discs and pads that have been sitting in the shed for the last year. Some stubborn bolts, but got there in the end. I still, however, have an annoying squeak/rubbing noise from the passenger front. I think the pads may be missing some springs/clips. The little clip at the bottom of the leading pad is not there (there is one on the drivers side), so this may have something to do with my squeak. Also there are no anti-rattle springs on any of the wheels, but this is probably not a major issue. Could the missing clip be causing my squeak? Would anyone have a spare one lying around?
