Why did you buy an MX?

Where do I start! Like yourselves, I always loved driving, and love cars. Did a rally driving day out, think I smiled for a month afterwards, learnt to fly when I was 17 - always had that need for speed but an appreciation for all things technical (read nerdy!)! For practical reasons, been driving my now husbands 16 year old Golf, which you can't get much craic out of, let's be honest!

So when we moved house and really could justify a second car, I turned 30, have no kids and thought 'now is the time for a me-car' The more impractical the better. No room for baby seats or buggies please, if I'm going to buy a sports car, its now or never.

To be honest, though the mx5 was always at the back of my mind, I test drove quite a few cars first, mostly coupes, a mini cooper S, an alpha GT - none of them really felt right.

Then I met 'Harriet'. She was a 02 gun-metal grey phoenix, 1.8 litre engine. Hard top. Heated leather seats. Style bars and silver scuff plates. It was mine as soon as I saw it! Sporty yet sophisticated. Classy but fun! What more could a girl want! I love nothing more than putting the boot down and being stuck to the seat! Amazing!

The plan was to trade her in for a 'normal' car when babies come along - hmmm not sure that's going to happen!
