![]() Re: What did you do to your MX5 today ?Changed my dash lighting and set the timing to 14 degrees this evening. Only had a quick spin but seems to have a bit more pep at lower revs.
Old dash lighting with the green covers on the bulbs Tried out some red bulbs but you'd need to take the green filter off the back of the dials to get the right result Went with new clear bulbs and happy with the result. Have a dash light dimmer switch on the way from Robert to finish the job. You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.
![]() Re: What did you do to your MX5 today ?changed coolant in both the 5 and the Audi 80. I'll do the oil in both the next decent day that comes. NCT booked for the 5. Can't get a date till april 3rd but have asked for a cancelation and hopefully get it within a fortnight.
Re: What did you do to your MX5 today ?had a go at modding my instrument binnacle with some new dials, stainless steel surround, dial rings and needle caps and painted my needles red...

![]() Re: What did you do to your MX5 today ?Nice work!
Will you have to calibrate the new needle postions? or can you just "pop" them on?
![]() Re: What did you do to your MX5 today ?pop them on, dead handy

![]() Re: What did you do to your MX5 today ?I know this is an old topic, probably not on here, but i decided to go a little further..
I wanted to put a front fog light switch in my MK1 but didn't want to use another switch location on the dash. So i saw a posting on the OC forum, think it was from M-m, about using a MK2.5 double switch. ![]() Also acquired a heated seat switch, as i wanted to butcher it for parts ![]() The fog light switch only has 1 lit up, i wanted to be different... ![]() So i drilled holes in the front switch so it would accommodate the clear perspex from the heater switch Its not wired into the car yet, as you can see from the pics, but i will try to get it done soon ![]() Just need to finish it off and hope for some good weather .... Before anybody mentions it, i know the colours are different, makes it easier to see which is on ![]() Does anybody know what these bulbs are?? both of them would help..not in need of them yet, just to keep it mind if they blow, as one has already gone ![]() ![]() They are out of the switch ![]() Love my 5
Running on LPG Should have got one sooner!!
Re: What did you do to your MX5 today ?Hi Snowman
The mazzda part no. NA01-66-462 and the LED version is NEO3 available from http://www.superbrightleds.com/ Hope this helps Alan edit Sorry it could also be Mazda BR7055431 or LED NEO4. Its hard to tell from the photo but if you have a spare hazard/lights up switch the bulbs in there are the the first ones above (check if its the same bulb) but I think the the switch one might be a bit smaller and then its the second option.
![]() Re: What did you do to your MX5 today ?Nice work Peteh on the instrument binnacle, thinking of going the same route myself.
Whats the quality of the dials like?
Re: What did you do to your MX5 today ?

![]() Re: What did you do to your MX5 today ?fitted a stainless steel cover piece to the heater controls to match in with the jass instrument binnacle surround
