I bought mine 2 weeks ago on Friday, more or less rained every day since. Flying to Italy in the morning so I hugged mine and promised better days when I get back next week!

(I say that but as i left Limerick en route to Dublin Airpost I passed a BRG Mk 1 with the roof down - wanted to shout to my bro but as I was driving my 'daily driver' (Land Rover) I felt somehow removed from the fraternity. Next months kids off school and Landie will go into hibernation in favour of my 5. And life will be different until September:)

Not today but I removed my soft top and rain rail. It was surprisingly easy, thankfully. The soft top is off so I can try and restitch the window panel back on. While I'm at it I'll double up the rain rail with VM tape. There is obvious signs of previous repair with strips of silver duck tape along it so hopefully it's not in bad shape underneath all that.

Ray, how "high" do you sit with the RX8 seats? Any difference to the originals?

Saturday I replaced rad top hose as the "kevlar reinforced" hose had cracked/split and was leaking, just 4 years old, car was off the road for about half of that time.
Then it over heated when out making sure I'd no leaks (I'd kinda knocked the fan wiring off and not noticed until the needle pegged in the red @ 116C).
Fixed the wiring. then today flushed the coolant and changed the other 2 kevlar hoses (one split off completely when giving it a slight twist to remove it) for silicone. No leaks now (so far).
Stay away from the kevlar hoses, after a bit of a google it seems lots of people had issues with them.

About an inch higher Steve, but to be honest I don't notice it., being a short arse. Might be an issue for the taller gentlemen. Comfort wise the RX8 seat is streets ahead of the original seats.

Attacked the rear passenger side caliper, replaced the two slider pins and the boot the lower pin goes through (full of funk), regreased and readjusted. The pad seems to be grabbing on a larger area and I have a hand brake that actually locks the rear wheels at slow speeds. Didn't get a chance to bleed it yet as my assistant was busy on a bouncy castle.

Brian, I investigated the noise I was getting on RH corners, its the half shaft stub hitting the exhaust. Hmmm...

That explains the noise right enough steve
Is there a crack in the exhaust as well ? Is it possible to lower the exhaust a small bit?
You really need a nice sensible car ! :D

4 koni yellow sports shocks fitted yesterday. If I ever see a rusty bolt again I'll be too soon. Anyway it's done now.

No crack in it, yeah lowering a 1/2 inch would probably do it.

Drivers side RX8 seat fitted.. jobs a good'un.. with the height adjustment the drivers seat is actually lower than the stock seat. I've got more room between my legs and steering wheel. extremely happy with it. Definitely the best mod I've done to the car.

Well, finally finished the turbo fitment...many thanks to sidewaysreilly for his welding of the oil pipe...gotta attack the interior now, and rang the nct for a standby appointment. Saving for new tyres, will probably put her in for nct regardless, let them figure out for me what else needs doing.

Did a foamectomy yesterday evening and it has transformed my seat.

Tonight, I've continued restitching my soft top. Hopefully it'll be fitted on Thursday before a trip to Kenmare on Friday/Satueday.
