Fitted my ms2 the other day and today I was trying to work the launch control and can't get the bloody thing working. Finding it hard to get the info to work it and Dimitris isn't very reliable on the emails.
Advanced the timing to 12 degrees and its pulling great in 3rd!

Murray Auto Services Dublin fitted some MeisterR's I provided and did a wheel alignment, it took 5.5 hours and cost 300 euro plus VAT, it has definitely improved the quality and feel of the ride.

Tomorrow I will be waxing and polishing, it's amazing how much dust cars collect - even when they're just sitting there.

Next job I'm mulling over is braided brake lines and a brake cylinder stopper, but sticking with OEM pads, as it's only a road car.

jabout, those Meisters I'd say are just the bees knees. And, I recommend greenstuff pads, even for a road car. They are quite impressive.

Today I raised the car and set the suspension up for the track day on 21st. Changed rear pads, waiting on braided front brake lines and next weekend I'll be changing out the old watery braking fluid for some high temp stuff. Also, might have all turbo parts and thinking of installing it. Although I don't think 2 weeks is enough space between going turbo and a full day in the track.

AND, did a little road tune today. Only engine mods are bigger injectors, ms2, pod filter and 2.25" cat back ( and 6speed manual) and now after the tune the thing flies!! Absolutely massive difference, couldn't believe it. Can't wait to stick some Michelin PS3s on it and get out in the track.

Today I taxed and insured the roadster a brought it out for a spin. First bit of road it's seen in a long time... I think I'll need to put a list of bits up here later on

had a closer look on Sat, slider pins frozen on one side (couldn't get them to move even with breaker bar on them...), other side piston is sticking.
Put some brake fluid in under the seal on the pistons on both sides after pushing them almost all the way out and cleaning back as far as I could. Greased up the sliders and reassembled. Brakes aren't dragging now but its just a matter of time... new front calipers are needed v.soon.

Thanks Brian!

It makes the cabin feel so much more spacious actually. Feels great. It's exactly the same size as stock, I'd like to try something smaller, but that can wait!

New calipers arrived :

Old one on driver's side with crappy piston :

New one in, no issues, yay :

Image

Passenger side... stuck slider pins, it looks like both pin seals split or tore and water got in :

Image

After a lot of hammering, swearing, leaning on breaker bars and swearing, the top one came out reluctantly :

Image

The bore, will clean it out before putting in the new one I think :

Image

The bottom one is still stuck though... I ran out of light + time, so soaked it in wd40 and left it sit till I can get round to it again, its twisting but only with a lot of effort. I'll use the propane torch then :

Good work there Steve. You should probably try using a release spray rather than WD. Will work a lot better and probably save you the hassle of using a torch.

this is true... I must get some, any recommendations?
I broke out the torch and got the last one out in the end (around 5pm on Sat), they must have been dragging a bit for a long time, huge difference.

After that, I revisited my earlier foamectomy on my drivers seat, previously I'd just removed the hump from the bottom of the seat, I still felt like I was kinda sitting "on" rather than "in" the car so needed to lower it a bit and get the bolsters hugging a bit more. I went the whole hog on it after sitting in one recently, cut out foam from the seat back and the base pad (I've kept them incase I don't like it). It feels like its worked from a quick sit in but won't know till tomorrow.
