Yes to both! I'm hoping it's not my imagination, but car defo seemed treasurer on bends - and that's not to su it handled poorly before hand, but it appeared more 'sure - footed ' going into corners. (And if it is my imagination, they should be called Placebo bars instead of braces!). Also got a look inside the seat belt cavity to the quarter panel and was very pleasantly surprised. Apart from the arms and dust there was one small (2-3 cm) patch of surface rust on the drivers side. Maybe spider webs and dust are good rust inhibitors!). Also made me wonder, over the treats, how many spiders find their way into a car? I've cleaned the engine bay 2, maybe 3, times and still keep finding webs.

[quote="93 Mk1"]That reminds me of some interior work that I done over the summer. I bought a nice mohair roof and frame from Robert earlier in the year so while I was fitting it, I took the opportunity to remove the style bar, wind deflector and seats in order to clean the carpet the best I could. I reinstalled the retractable wind deflector but left the style bar
Nice job.... cabin looks well. That's one of the jobs I'm hoping to get around to doing as well (tho with black carpets it's much easier tho disguise dirt/stains). Might have to wait until next year tho, when the weather is warmer.

I think convertibles draw more "visitors" than regular tin-top cars. I've noticed a few small webs in my own the odd time. Imagine living somewhere like Australia where they have the nasty ones ?! Definitely the summer is the best time for carpet cleaning etc. 1001 carpet cleaner is decent enough or if you can get the entire carpet set out, pressure washing is very effective I find. Insurance & tax next..........

For all the arachnophobes out there, I see that the false widow spider is making serious inroads into the indigenous spider population, Just sayin' John

Cleaned the interior with a view to fitting the hardtop for the winter. Washed the seats with soap and water, then dosed in leather cleaner and buffed them up. Pleased with how they turned out. Clean 1.jpg Clean 2.jpg Clean 3.jpg I thought they were fairly clean - but this was the cloths afterwards... Clean 4.jpg And this was after first pass of the steering wheel!!! Clean 5.jpg Hopefully get the hardtop on tomorrow.

Yes, it's a Momo wheel - not sure which model tho. I last cleaned it over a year ago and didn't expect it to be as bad as it was! Hopefully you'll get a good spin this weekend to distract you from the lack of The Black Stuff

Ah I think they always accumulate dirt ! It's just that the black hides it all ! Trust me, it's better that the lacquer splinters that I get in my fingers from the wood Nardi wheel

That's interesting. It's Mariner Blue and was my first '5 (JDM model). It had some nice bits on it when I bought it all those years back. The Momo wheel, Rays Engineering wheels, KYB adjustables, exhaust etc.

As a certain Mr. Jon Snow may say "Winter is coming"..... so time to put on the winter hat. Step one - fitting these bad boys. The roof was missing the side latches, and at 100yoyo's (Sterling) a pop.... EACH side.... these were an acceptable alternative (at £40-odd for both). Clamp 1.jpg Had to cut out the trim panel then bolt into the pre-existing holes. Clamp 2.jpg Clamp 4.jpg Then on with the roof, and thankfully everything lined up exactly as it should. Clamp 5.jpg Tightened bolts and roof clamped into place...... so, Hurricane Ophelia, Stripey is now ready for whatever you can throw at him (Hope I don't regret saying that!) Roof 1.jpg Roof 2.jpg

These little bubbles are along the rear rim of the roof...... just not sure if it's worth trying to sort it out now - or wait til next year (should have done it before putting the roof on the car, but I didn't! (They aren't as bad as I thought). Roof 3.jpg Roof 4.jpg
