If they're anything like the ones on mine it's gone to dust under the paint, if you do sand them don't use heavy grit sandpaper or most likely you'll have to re paint the roof By the way, car looks good with the roof on

A nice day to be working on the car - nice jobs done (except for crying about the soft top!).

Purposefully opened the garage, walked in, and walked around the car for about two minutes.
Left the garage and locked it.
That's it.
And it felt good.

Jump started the car (well, it hadn't been started for about a month) and went for a drive........ and LOVED it (and reminded me why I really enjoy having a MX5). Then got around to getting my finger out and fitting the new front number plate. The existing plate was chipped at the corner: Plate.jpg Plus, I didn't like the way it looked, sitting up above the body line (I felt it took away from the smooth front end). Sooooo, new plate put on just at the bottom of the swage(?) line. Before.... Before 1.jpg After: After 1.jpg Before.... Before 2.jpg After: After 2.jpg Sometimes it the small things that make one smile

Car has not been starting the last week.. so I went through all the posible electric tricky... symptoms were turn the key and nothing.. no dash lights, no click on from the starter. Lights, radio and fan all worked fine. Good battery.. and the starter would turn over when bridged.. I cleaned the ignition switch, neutral switch and checked every fuse and relay and earth in the car.. I the back of my mind I suspected the aftermarket alarm and immobiliser so I said fec it and ripped it all out. Fired up first time and I swear it's running better. My idle droop is definitely gone which has been driving me nuts since for ever.. happy days. Only down fall is I now have no alarm and immobiliser, I have to get that sorted

That's great, Ray.... a success! Funnily enough, when I got Stripey the battery would drain relatively quickly if left. There was an alarm fitted (but not working), so I decided to take it all out too, and now I can leave the car for longer periods and it fires up fine and dandy. BTW..... just so you know, I think there are dedicated web sites that sell tablets to help you with that idle droop.....
